FullPro Past, Present and Future

FullPro at the 2005 SHOT Show FullPro was founded by Erik Mikysa, FullPro’s president. Erik wore ear and eye protection while mowing lawns in high school, but didn't like how the arms of the safety glasses broke the earmuff seals.  Erik also experienced the problem during carpentry projects and while shooting guns. He made some prototypes of a solution, but then left Oklahoma for college in North Carolina. In NC, Erik was training for his pilot’s license when he once again experienced the problem – this time the arms of his sunglasses were breaking the seals of his aviation headset. Erik developed some new prototypes and, per advice from fellow pilots, applied for a patent.

Erik graduated from college and moved to Atlanta to work for a management consulting firm. His patent application was approved and on nights and weekends Erik began working to bring the product to market. Erik then moved to California to begin studies at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. At Stanford, Erik collaborated with Gabriel Post, who was then in Stanford’s Product design program. Other students from the Stanford's and Harvard's Business Schools joined the team, and they worked on product development and market analysis. In 2004 the team won the “Best Chance of Success” Award in the Battle of the Business Plans at the 20th Annual Entrepreneurship Conference at Harvard Business School.

Upon graduation from Stanford, Erik began working full-time on FullPro. Manufacturing is now in place and SoundVision has passed rigorous third-party testing (ANSI Z87.1+). Company focus has shifted to marketing, sales and customer-service, and new product development.
